A hibiscus flower from our garden is pressed into the porcelain clay, the bottom side has leaves pressed into it as well to add interest. The clay is slumped over a form while it dries. I love to use these for sandwiches or bagels, it can also be used as a shallow serving bowl. The plate measures approximately 9" across
