Frost Bottom Studio (FBS) candles are made from domestically grown soy beans which are a sustainable and renewable product. Our eco-friendly wax is never tested on animals, is FDA Kosher and also vegan.
With proper care they are virtually soot free because FBS candles contain
No Additives
No Dyes
No Paraffin (a petroleum by-product)
Lead & Zinc free Cotton Wick
Always Phthalate Free
Our premium fragrances are of the highest quality which are infused with fine essential oils. By using a cotton wick this creates a superior candle that burns cleaner and longer compared to a paraffin candle. FBS candles are produced in small batches which are hand poured into recyclable containers on Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
Our pottery is made with both white, brown and speckled buff stoneware. I mostly throw on a potters wheel but I do also hand build pieces. Once the clay is firm enough, it's trimmed and a handle is applied if it's a mug or pitcher. This is also the time that I would carve or decorate with slips, underglazes or transfers. One the pieces are bone dry, they are fired in an electric kiln to turn it into bisque ware. The pots are then inspected, sanded and washed. Once dry the glazes are applied by either dipping or brushing. I fire to cone 5-6 (2167-2232 F) until the clay is vitrified (impervious to fluids). Lastly, the bottoms are sanded one last time until very smooth.
